Tanzania’s National parks introduced bicycle tourism

On Sunday, the Tanzania National Parks introduced bicycle tourism. To the top of the 4,566-meters Mount Meru located in the north of the country, around 27 cyclists started their ride. Among these 27 cyclists, there were tour operators as well as tourists. They began their attempt to triumph over the fifth highest mountain of Africa. It will take around three days for the cyclists ascending as well as descending.

Albert Mziray, the assistant commissioner for Conservation with the Arusha National Park, while speaking at the foot of Mount Meru, explained that the bicycle tourism on the mountain was an innovative concept. This idea had all the possibilities of drawing visitors and tourists in huge numbers.

TANAPA senior conservation officer, Catherine Mbena, stated that TANAPA will expand its tourism products that would allow the visitors to have a choice in terms of tourism attractions.

Thad Peterson, the leader of the expedition, also added that from now on, tourists will become even more discriminating and they even while doing excursions would be looking for more exercises. Peterson also said that the mission is to attract more tourists to the Arusha National Park, and offer them a combination of flora and fauna with exotic scenery.
