TAP Air Portugal, in collaboration with The Art of Tasting Portugal, has unveiled six new chefs and star products set to feature on the airline’s long-haul flights for the upcoming year. The Local Stars project elevates TAP’s business class experiences by celebrating Portuguese culinary heritage, showcasing the country’s iconic ingredients through the creations of nationally acclaimed chefs, each representing a different region and its signature products.
The new chefs are Arnaldo Azevedo, André Cruz, Rodrigo Castelo, Carlos Afonso, Alexandre Silva and Rui Paula, who will each present a region of Portugal and one of the most emblematic products in their work, through an exclusive signature menu, which will be served for two months onboard TAP’s aircraft.
TAP has made a clear commitment to modernizing its fleet and offering the best product in the sector for its customers. The Portuguese airline operates one of the youngest fleets in the world, with all Airbus’ next generation NEO aircraft: A330neo, A321LR, A320neo and A321neo, with superior efficiency and reduced emission levels. TAP also operates 19 Embraer aircraft in its regional fleet (TAP Express).
TAP is considered by Airline Ratings to be the safest airline in Europe and the sixth safest in the world. The airline has been named Best Airline in Europe for 13 consecutive years by the readers of Global Traveler magazine.
The “Local Stars” project, which began last year and is now being renewed for 2024, aims to highlight the national territory and its characteristics and thus present the diversity and richness of the national gastronomic panorama.
