Taximen to get mandatory tourism training now, says minister Goa

In Goa, taxi drivers will have to go through an obligatory orientation program. This will make certain that the drivers from now on are well tutored while serving tourists, said Mauvin Godinho, transport minister, Goa.


On Thursday, he was speaking at the flag off of Kadamba’s disability-friendly EVs.


Godinho said that the taxi drivers are Goa’s ambassador and they are the first person who comes into contact with the visitors.

They must go through an obligatory two-week orientation program. After completeion of this program, only then they’ll be handed their badge to operate.

Also, he highlighted the matter of the blue taxis, which will function from the Manohar International Airport at Mopa.

He also added that blue taxis have been notified. They have not delayed anything. There is a process that must be pursued rightly.

The government on Wednesday, issued the draft notification modifying the Goa Motor Vehicles Act to make the development of a blue cab counter at the Mopa International Airport easy.
