Indianapolis turns green as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans celebrate at The Children’s Museum with vibrant art, honoring 40 years of Turtle Power. Join the adventure!
Cowabunga! Indianapolis has been transformed with a splash of ninja-inspired green, thanks to an enthusiastic group of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles aficionados! They’ve brought the city to life with their iconic green, creating a vibrant spectacle.
A daring display of creativity saw over a dozen enthusiasts, donned in turtle-like attire, taking to the streets with cans of spray paint. Their mission? To herald their triumphant return to The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis by decorating the city’s manhole covers with splashes of dynamic green. Indeed, they aimed to make an unforgettable impression.
Utilizing 114 cans of spray paint, they adorned 237 manhole covers throughout Indianapolis. The creative force behind this project was Ess McKee, a visiting artist at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, who crafted remarkable art pieces at six strategic locations in celebration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This project was made possible through special approval from Indianapolis city officials, under the Art in the Right of Way program.
Guests are invited to explore an imaginatively vibrant underground realm, far surpassing any typical sewer hideaway, where they will be whisked away to the Turtles’ secret headquarters.
From March 9 to September 2, 2024, visitors can immerse themselves in the Nickelodeon™ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles™: Secrets of the Sewer exhibit. Here, they will master the principles of unity, cooperation, and critical thinking, guided by the wisdom of our verdant heroes.
But there’s even more to this adventure! This exhibition is not just a simple sewer journey. Visitors will uncover the Turtles’ underground haven, equipped with a kitchen for pizza celebrations, a lounge for marathon cartoon viewing sessions, and even a dojo for refining their martial arts skills. Who would have thought sewer living could be so appealing?
Celebrate four decades of Turtle Power with The Children’s Museum, where the teachings are as enriching as the pizza is tasty. Leonardo, the strategic leader in blue; Raphael, the muscle in red; Donatello, the intellect in purple; and Michelangelo, the fun-loving one in orange, invite you to partake in their green crusade at the premier children’s museum globally.
