TFE Hotels, a prominent Australian provider of upscale apartment-style accommodations, has revealed its latest venture: the Adina Apartment queensland, designed by WMK. This brand-new hotel is slated to open its doors to guests in 2025.

Situated in the thriving and rapidly expanding Chermside neighborhood, this 148-room establishment seeks to provide guests with a contemporary and ideally located lodging experience. Among its amenities, guests can expect to find an all-day dining restaurant, a stylish café/bar, a welcoming lobby lounge, a well-equipped meeting space, a fitness center, rainwater harvesting capabilities, and convenient on-site parking.

“The signing of Adina Chermside Brisbane is a significant milestone for TFE Hotels, providing an opportunity for us to expand our Adina footprint from two hotels to three in the powerhouse state of Queensland,” says TFE Hotels’ Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick.

“Adina Chermside brings a renowned, international hotel brand to this important suburb, filling a gap in the accommodation market for the north side of Brisbane and the Prince Charles Hospital. Significantly it also represents an incredible opportunity to expand our footprint to maximise on the incredible decade of transformation that lies ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

The Queensland Government has pinpointed Chermside as a significant hub for services beyond the CBD, making it one of Brisbane’s fastest-growing suburbs. Population projections indicate that its residents are poised to nearly double by 2036. Located just a 20-minute drive north of Brisbane’s city center, Chermside is informally acknowledged as the miniature central business district of the northern suburbs of Brisbane.

“With such great access to public transport, incredible retail amenities and health and research services right here on our doorstep, this lifestyle hotel will cater to business and leisure travellers as well as longer stay hospital guests,” Sedgwick said

The Adina Chermside is under the ownership of Limitless Developments, a company based in South-East Queensland with a notable track record, boasting a diverse portfolio valued at over $150 million and an additional $160 million worth of projects in the pipeline. Owner Nick Barr, who brings over 25 years of personal experience in Brisbane, not only has a passion for progress but also a deep commitment to grassroots support and fundraising for the communities he contributes to. This year, Nick Barr is taking on the Chain Reaction Challenge, a 1000km cycling event aimed at raising funds for The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation and the Common Good.

According to Mr. Barr, the Adina Chermside Brisbane is strategically positioned to capitalize on the robust economic and population growth currently underway in Chermside and the broader northern suburbs.

“We are a homegrown developer who understands Brisbane’s inner north intimately, and we’re confident that Adina Chermside will become the flagship hotel for this burgeoning part of the city,” Mr Barr said. “We are also excited to partner with TFE Hotels – an Australian-born company and experienced hotel operator and developer in their own right – to bring this future-thinking development to life.

“The Chermside area is transitioning, and we anticipate that the demand for quality corporate, travel and health-based travel accommodation needs in the area will only continue to increase in the next five to ten years,” he said.

Chermside stands as a prominent healthcare and medical center, notably housing the Prince Charles Hospital precinct, which serves not only the residents of Brisbane but also those from across Queensland. As part of the State Government’s Queensland Capacity Expansion Program, The Prince Charles Hospital, situated adjacent to the Adina Chermside site, is set to embark on a substantial $300 million expansion project commencing in December 2024. This expansion will incorporate an additional 93 beds and a four-story extension to the existing building, expected to be completed by 2028.

Chermside is also renowned for hosting one of the largest shopping centers in the nation – Westfield Chermside, offering ample opportunities for retail therapy. This shopping mall holds historical significance as the first of its kind in Australia and continues to attract shoppers just as fervently as it did upon its grand opening in 1957.

The area boasts excellent public transportation connectivity, and aside from the bustling Gympie Road, it features a diverse array of shops and stores to explore. Visitors can also take advantage of a vast network of parklands along the scenic Downfall Creek, complete with a system of bikeways and footpaths connecting various areas for leisurely exploration. Meanwhile, greater Brisbane maintains its stellar reputation for a vibrant dining and cultural scene.

Adina Chermside is a valuable addition to the extensive Adina network, which comprises 40 hotels spanning across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Europe, including the Adina Apartment Hotel Anzac Square and Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane, both located in the heart of the CBD.

Scheduled to open its doors in 2025, the hotel will join a new generation of Adina-branded establishments that made their debut last year, such as the iconic Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne opened its doors in February 2023, while Adina Apartment Hotel Geneva welcomed guests in March 2023.
