Thai Airways secures two aircraft lease from CDB Aviation

CDB Aviation leases two Airbus A330-300s to Thai Airways, boosting its presence in Asia-Pacific and meeting rising regional travel demand.

CDB Aviation, an integral part of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. and based in Ireland, has made a significant announcement regarding a new lease deal for two pre-owned Airbus A330-300 widebody aircraft. This agreement has been established with Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, Thailand’s flagship carrier.

Jie Chen, the CEO of CDB Aviation, expressed enthusiasm about Thai Airways joining their expanding roster of clients in the Asia-Pacific region. He highlighted that this addition of widebody aircraft to Thai Airways’ fleet is pivotal for enhancing its influence in crucial intra-Asian sectors, accommodating the surge in travel demand and peak season traffic.

The aircraft are scheduled to be handed over to Thai Airways in September and October of 2024.

Jie Chen further commented on the current market dynamics, noting an escalating demand for both new and pre-owned aircraft amongst airlines. This demand is largely fueled by growing passenger numbers. CDB Aviation’s commercial team is dedicated to understanding and meeting the varied needs of its clientele, supporting them in overcoming immediate and future fleet management challenges.
