Thailand has recorded a remarkable influx of 32.7 million international visitors from January 1 to December 8, 2024, generating an impressive tourism revenue of about 1.535 trillion baht (approximately RM201 billion), according to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Sorawong Thianthong.
In the week from December 2 to December 8 alone, Thailand welcomed 699,129 international tourists, averaging nearly 99,876 visitors daily.

Despite a modest week-over-week decrease of 1.03% in tourist numbers, the decline was effectively counterbalanced by a surge in visitors from Malaysia, which helped mitigate the downturn from other regions.
As of December 9, China topped the list of source markets for tourists to Thailand, with a tally of 6.3 million visitors. It was followed by Malaysia with 4.6 million, India with 1.96 million, South Korea with 1.72 million, and Russia with 1.55 million.
