At present, the city of Woodstock is welcoming grant applications to help improve tourism-generating projects.
For completed applications, the deadline to submit supporting documentation is March 31st. In early May, awards will be announced and the grant dollars must be spent by April 30th, 2024.
The grants are supported using proceeds from 5% hotel and motel tax charged on all accommodation facilities based within the city limits.
A chosen group of organizations gets funding automatically every year as nonprofits planning tourism events can apply for financial assistances, the total amount of which differs every year, as per a recent news release. For awards, applications with requests of $4,000 or less are evaluated by city staff and sanctioned by the City Council.
Applicants are expected to work together with local accommodation organizations and encourage their usage by the participants of the event in publicity materials, as per the release.
