A major conference was recently convened, bringing together influential figures and nearly one thousand representatives from both domestic and international travel enterprises. The gathering served as a vital platform for reinforcing regional partnerships, soliciting crucial investment capital, and vigorously promoting environmentally sound tourism practices designed to secure the city’s position as a genuine four-season destination.
The pivotal event, formally titled the Hai Phong Destination Promotion Conference 2025, was held on the afternoon of November 22, 2025. It was strategically hosted at the sprawling Dragon Hill International Tourism Area located in Do Son Ward, Hai Phong. The initiative was collaboratively organized by the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hai Phong Tourism Association, and the Geleximco Group. The proceedings were conducted under the resonant theme, “Hai Phong – A Four-Season Tourism Destination,” which encapsulated the city’s long-term vision. The sheer scale of the event was notable, with attendance recorded for almost 100 international tour operators and more than 450 domestic travel enterprises, signifying the widespread interest and commitment to the city’s tourism potential.

This focus ensures that the distinctive tourism profile of Hai Phong is significantly enhanced and effectively imprinted onto the national and global tourism maps. An aggressive and targeted marketing campaign is considered essential for differentiating the city’s comprehensive and varied offerings from those of competing destinations, thereby capturing greater international attention.
Secondly, the crucial dimension of regional connectivity is being boosted. This involves the meticulous development of inter-provincial tourism products and travel routes. These routes are specifically designed to weave together the tourism sector with other integral local economic strengths. Linkages are being forged with agriculture, the burgeoning industrial sector, specialized craft villages, and general commerce. Such integration is understood to broaden the economic impact of tourism and enhance the appeal of the region beyond conventional sight-seeing activities, providing visitors with a richer, multi-faceted experience that includes local production and craftsmanship.
Thirdly, an extensive program for calling for investment is being rigorously implemented. Capital is specifically being sought for the development of modern, world-class tourism infrastructure, the establishment of high-end service facilities, and the creation of competitive, green tourism products. The influx of investment is seen as indispensable for elevating the overall quality and visitor capacity of the destination. Without substantial infrastructure upgrades—including transportation networks, sophisticated lodging, and state-of-the-art entertainment—the ambitious goals for increased visitor numbers and heightened revenue generation cannot realistically be attained or sustained.

These offerings are being developed to leverage the unique geographical and cultural assets of the city, thereby attracting a more diverse and higher-spending visitor demographic, moving away from reliance on seasonal peaks.
Island and Marine Tourism is being given particular emphasis, capitalizing on assets such as the Cat Ba Archipelago. This focus involves developing premium resorts and enhancing facilities for maritime activities, ensuring that the ecological integrity of these natural treasures is maintained through strict environmental standards and responsible development practices.
The burgeoning field of MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) is also being strategically targeted. The development of large-scale, modern convention facilities and supporting high-end accommodation is crucial for attracting corporate and international organizational events. The economic multiplier effect of MICE visitors, who typically spend more and travel during traditional off-peak seasons, is well understood and is a core component of the four-season strategy.
The importance of the conference was effectively articulated by Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee. It was noted that the event provides a major opportunity through which the tourism image of Hai Phong can be introduced and effectively promoted to a global audience. Moreover, the platform is recognized for facilitating experience sharing, partnership seeking, and the advancement of innovative solutions essential for sustainable tourism development. This strategic focus is considered particularly pertinent during the critical phase of recovery and acceleration being experienced by the tourism economy following the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. A concerted push is being made to reclaim and surpass previous tourism performance indicators.
To ensure Hai Phong’s image is spread widely and effectively, a multi-pronged approach to outreach is being implemented. The utilization of sophisticated digital platforms for promotion is being significantly enhanced, ensuring that global audiences are reached efficiently through targeted online campaigns. International cooperation is also being expanded through strategic governmental and business engagements designed to attract new market segments. Furthermore, the organization of comprehensive famtrip and presstrip programmes is considered a cornerstone of the promotional strategy, allowing key travel influencers and media representatives to experience the city firsthand, thereby generating authentic, credible, and high-impact coverage.
