The International Yoga Day will improve Mysuru tourism, expects stakeholders

Mysuru’s travel and hospitality sector is expecting to make the most of the international Yoga Day which is observed on June 21st in this city of Karnataka. The Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, will be leading the celebrations. Yoga performances by more than 15,000 enthusiasts take place at the famous Mysuru palace.


Stakeholders claim that the city arranging the main Yoga Day event of the country with the PM leading this old discipline of Hindu philosophy will definitely promote Mysuru along with its tourism potential to the world. They said that they can anticipate the long-term effect of this celebration on the tourism sector, mainly when Dasara is after couple of months. With tourism revitalization and COVID-19 under control, international yoga day has come as a best seller!


With yoga enthusiasts, the hotels in Mysuru are expecting for a 100% occupancy rate with large number of people taking part in the celebrations. C. Narayana Gowda, Mysuru Hotel Owners’ Association President, said that they have been informed that the celebrations will be joined by many people at multiple venues in the city. This will attract good amount of revenue as they will put up in several city hotels. Many for tourism reasons would prefer to stay for one or two days after the event. At the right time, these mega celebrations have come as now we have off-season with the start of schools and colleges.
