Suncadia, a celebrated mountain resort and community nestled on the sun-drenched slopes of the Cascade Mountains, just 80 miles east of Seattle, is thrilled to announce the nearing completion of its $4 million makeover of The Lodge, the resort’s centerpiece. Scheduled for a late May unveiling, the extensive renovation revitalizes over 10,000 square feet on the first floor, transforming the lobby, Great Room, and introducing a fresh dining concept along with a cozy den area. This grand reopening of The Lodge signifies the commencement of a series of comprehensive upgrades and new features planned for the resort, marking the dawn of a new era in the Suncadia journey.

A NEW VISION FOR THE LODGE

Perched majestically above the Cle Elum River, The Lodge at Suncadia boasts breathtaking views of the river valley and the Cascade Mountains, drawing inspiration from the grandeur of Washington’s National Park lodges and embodying the adventurous spirit of the state. The ground-floor renovation embodies the local environment, culture, and the mining heritage of the nearby Cle Elum and Roslyn areas, incorporating locally sourced natural materials. The remodel emphasizes expansive vistas, adding larger windows that frame the mountain scenery, increasing seating in the Great Room, and featuring bespoke art and furniture crafted by local artisans, offering a luxurious yet comfortable setting for guests.

“As the centerpiece of the destination, The Lodge at Suncadia sets the tone for an enriching and quintessentially Washington escape for our guests and residents, serving as the jumping off point for unparalleled access to all the Pacific Northwest has to offer” , says Jamee Smith, chief officer of marketing and sales for Suncadia. “With the renovations, guests can expect entirely reimagined arrival and dining experiences, modernized design, and a welcoming atmosphere in keeping with the warm hospitality for which the destination has become known. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this transformation as the first among many to come for Suncadia”.

Enhancements extend to the lobby, Great Room, and den, with the introduction of The Source, a new premier dining venue designed as a welcoming, family-friendly spot for communal meals featuring hearty, inventive dishes. With a menu that includes specialties like Burnt Ends with huckleberry teriyaki and a unique table-top bonfire dessert experience, The Source is set to become a culinary highlight for resort guests, residents, and locals, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The renovated space also includes an open, inviting dining and lounge area with increased seating options inside and out, maximizing the stunning Cascade views and introducing The Source Mercantile, a new coffee shop and market.

Future phases of The Lodge’s renovation, expected to be complete by 2026, will focus on guest room updates.

“We’re thrilled to welcome a new dining experience to the destination whose name speaks for itself – an inviting, community-driven gathering space that diners are continuously drawn back to”, says Andrew Wilson, director of restaurants, bars and events. “Each dish was carefully created to tell a narrative around the Pacific Northwest region from which the ingredients are sourced. The menu largely features local and trusted purveyors to not only reduce our carbon footprint but contribute to the overall growth of the local community beyond Suncadia”.

ENHANCED COMMUNITY FEATURES

Suncadia is committed to enhancing the overall destination experience, with plans for improvements throughout the community this year.

This summer, the resort will unveil a $1.5 million expansion of Nelson Farm Park, a 1.7-acre expanse that will feature a 455-foot pump track and a new playground, emphasizing organic and repurposed materials to harmonize with the landscape. The park’s design is a nod to the site’s history as a dairy farm, incorporating elements like reused logs and stones from Nelson Lakes.

Additionally, Suncadia’s Glade Spring Spa is slated for renovations this fall, focusing on the outdoor sanctuary and soaks. These upgrades aim to elevate the spa and wellness experience, setting a new benchmark for luxury and relaxation in Washington.
