The Water Metro project is expected to drive the tourism prospects of Kochi and its surrounding areas, since it connects villages with the mainland.
Pallipuram, Njarackal, Nayarambalam, Cheranelloor, Edvanakkad, Kadamakudy, Kuzhuppilly, Mulavukad, Varapuzha and Vypeen would be connected to the mainland with the help of this Water Metro project.
The Metro authorities said that there are plans to build kiosks and commercial units attached to the boat jetties of the Water Metro project. This is expected to advancethe living conditions of the villagers. Tourists in Kochi can take pleasure in a cruise through the backwaters and catch a glimpse of the village life in the islands off Kochi.
The kiosks and commercial units attached to the Water Metro terminals are expected to convert the jetties into sought-after places.
