Third Daily Emirates Service to Cape Town Strengthens Long-Haul Travel Options

Travel options between the Middle East and Southern Africa are set to expand as Emirates prepares to increase the number of daily services operating between Dubai and Cape Town. From July 1, a third daily flight will be introduced on the route, adding capacity and schedule flexibility for travelers flying between the two cities. The additional service will operate alongside the two existing daily flights already serving the route.

The expanded schedule reflects continued demand on the Dubai–Cape Town corridor and supports the movement of tourists and long-haul travelers using the airline’s global network. With three daily services, travelers will have greater choice in departure times while maintaining access to Emirates’ established onboard offerings.

Aircraft Deployment and Cabin Configuration

The newly added daily service will be operated using the Airbus A350-900, an aircraft that features the airline’s latest cabin design standards. This aircraft will include Emirates’ premium economy cabin, complementing the existing product offering already available on the route.

At present, the two daily services between Dubai and Cape Town are operated using the Boeing 777-300ER. One of these flights already offers a four-class configuration that includes premium economy seating. The introduction of the A350-900 allows the airline to align capacity with demand while maintaining consistency in passenger experience across different aircraft types.

The use of the A350-900 also supports fleet balance on the route, as larger aircraft types are not being introduced for the additional frequency. This approach enables capacity growth without altering the overall scale of operations already established on the route.

The third daily Dubai–Cape Town service further strengthens network connectivity through Emirates’ home hub at Dubai International Airport. With additional frequency, connections between Cape Town and other points in the airline’s network can be supported through existing hub operations.

Cape Town International Airport, identified as Cape Town International Airport, remains the sole destination on this route, with no changes introduced to routing or destination coverage. The focus remains on enhancing service levels using current infrastructure and established market demand.

The expanded operation underscores Emirates’ continued presence on the route, maintaining its existing service structure while adding capacity through frequency rather than introducing new markets or operational changes.
