This year’s Cambodia Travel Mart will take place in Phnom Penh

This year’s Cambodia Travel Mart (CTM) will be considerably larger compared to the previous one, with 173 booths booked so far, marking an increase of 56 percent, said the Minister of Tourism Thong Khon.

 
CTM 2018 will be held in Phnom Penh. It will be a platform where local and international buyers, suppliers, trade professionals and media partners would meet and exchange information on the latest tourism developments in Cambodia, the minister said.

 
This will be the second edition of the event, with the first one held last year in Siem Reap.
The fair is a collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism and Slickbooth, which is an international event management firm.

 
To quote Mr. Khon, “76 percent of the booths will be taken by local tourism operators and the rest by international firms.” He added that the foreign companies will come from South Korea, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, China and Indonesia.

 
20 hotels will be represented at the event, as well as 35 travel agencies, 18 airlines and 3 communities. There will be an additional 26 kiosks for tourist products.

 
Mr. Khon said that the goal of the event is to advertise Cambodia and its tourist destinations to the world and promote the creation of package tours to the Kingdom to maintain the growth of tourist arrivals.

 
Phoeurk Chamroeun, the sales and marketing manager at Slickbooth, said that the exhibition will be organized with TTG Asia Media & Events, a Singaporean firm that specializes in prestigious international tourism fairs.

 
Last year, CTM in Siem Reap was visited by 3,000 people.

 
The Cambodia Travel Mart 2018 will take place Oct 11-13 at Phnom Penh’s Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre.
