Time Out Market will open in Saudi Arabia in 2027.

The ambitious dining complex will be at Diriyah Gate’s Diriyah Square area.

Poised to become a “key anchor” of the Square, Time Out Market Riyadh will spread over 9,000 sq. m on two floors, comprising 23 kitchens and five beverage spots.

Like all Time Out Markets around the globe, it will be a platform to both bring in world-class names, and up-and-coming local heroes.

Akin to Bujairi Terrace’s aim to elevate Saudi dining as a whole, Time Out Market Riyadh will also have a kitchen lab and kitchen academy.

What is Bujairi Terrace?

More than just a place for food, there will also be stages, exhibition spaces and a range of indoor and alfresco spaces. In total, the Market will be able to accommodate 1,650 people at any one time.

Holly Sands, Editorial Director, Hospitality & Entertainment at ITP Media Group said that he Market comes on the heels of the launch of Time Out Riyadh in 2021, established to help people discover the best of this rapidly developing city – just as we have done globally for more than 50 years.

Time Out is about celebrating home-grown creativity, giving local talent a platform and letting a new generation of young, ambitious Saudis in the city share stories about the future they are building.

They cannot wait to curate and showcase the best of the city at Time Out Market Riyadh in Diriyah Square.

Time Out Market Co-CEO (Development) Jay Coldren added that Time Out has always been at the forefront of urban centres, shining a light on the best of the city.

Our Time Out Markets let local culinary and cultural talent showcase their skills, bring people together to connect, create employment opportunities, and provide an open and diverse workplace for the community.

Diriyah Square is set to be a landmark, combining history, heritage and culture alongside retail and hospitality – as the country is opening up to tourism and the world, there is a well-established eating out culture that continues to grow, and evolving cultural scenes which both locals and visitors are increasingly enjoying.

They are looking forward to offering our unique Time Out Market experience, alongside their partners at DGDA.

Values of Diriyah and Time Out Market Riyadh

With dining hub Bujairi Terrace now open, the US$50bn project that is Diriyah Gate has already made itself one of the country’s top F&B destinations.

According to group CEO Jerry Inzerillo, both his project and Time Out share many of the same values.

He said that they are thrilled to announce Time Out Market for Diriyah Square, becoming the first of many major anchors for the development.

The team at Time Out Market share our vision – creating a vibrant dining experience for both locals and visitors alike that complements the retail, lifestyle and culture ingrained across Diriyah, and especially here at Diriyah Square.

Time Out Market on the move

Along with Time Out Market Riyadh, Time Out Market Abu Dhabi has been confirmed for 2025, with further details to come soon.

The Saudi Food Laboratory

Earlier in the year, DGDA chief of strategic management Talal Kensara told them of plans to develop Saudi cuisine.

He told Caterer Middle East they are developing a culinary laboratory with the Culinary Arts Commission, where they will invite chefs to explore and experiment with how they can infuse some of the local, fresh ingredients we have into their dishes.

Especially in Diriyah but also the wider Kingdom – looking at how that can be worked into amazing dishes. They have highly-skilled chefs willing to try and develop that cuisine. They’re experimenting also with how they can present traditional Saudi cuisine in a more contemporary manner.
