To boost consumption, Shanghai host tourism fest

Until Oct. 6 th , 2023, the 34th Shanghai Tourism Festival will continue, aiming to enhance cultural and tourism consumption. In Shanghai, a total of 70 tourist attractions like the Shanghai Wildlife Park, Oriental Pearl Tower, and Fengjing Ancient Town, together with a number of parks and museums, will provide 50% discount on tickets of admission until Sept. 22 nd .


Also, the 16 districts of the city will launch numerous cultural tourism consumption activities. The festival in 2023 in 12 cities has developed sub-venues in the Yangtze River Delta and in China’s eastern part, like Taizhou in Zhejiang Province, Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, Shangrao in Jiangxi Province, Huangshan in
Anhui Province, and Sanming in Fujian Province.

In the first half of 2023, information from the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism shows that the city has welcomed over 139 million local visitors which generated 155-billion-yuan tourism revenue which was an increase of over 100 percent year on year. In 1990, the annual Shanghai Tourism Festival was launched.
