Tourism activities once again gather speed at Matheran

With easing ofCovid-19 restrictions, tourism activities have once again gathered speed at Matheran hill station in Raigad district near Mumbai.

More than 460 horses and 100 hand-pulled rickshaws are back in action to carry tourists at various points at the hill station.The tourist activity is expectedto increase further during the summer vacations in schools. The narrow-gauge toy train from Aman lodge to Matheran market is also in demand due to complete ban on private vehicles on the hill station.

The toy train service from Neral station to Matheranis once again expected to start in October with repair worksdone on the tracks, which were damaged due to monsoon.
