Jersey tourism is slowly getting back on its feet from the negative impact of the pandemic.
On Saturday and Sunday i.e. 4th and 5th September, the airport of this island recorded its highest level of passengers in 2021. Besides, some hotels are already fully booked. Visit Jersey says more and more travelers are selecting to holiday in Jersey for the first time, mainly due to the long restrictions and lockdowns. The UK government is promoting ‘staycations’.
For 2022, the tourism body says that they are already “feeling very positive” in spite of fears about a potential third wave of the virus in the winters.
ITV News has previously reported on Guernsey’s airline Aurigny adding more flights to Alderney, which has also proved a popular destination this summer, alongside Herm.
The Ports of Jersey says the island is being viewed as a safe place to the tourists coming from abroad and the bounce back is “coming faster than we thought it would”.
