Tourism Council WA is urging Western Australians to plan ahead and secure bookings for activities like tours, attractions, and dining spots prior to embarking on their summer vacations.
In the latest findings from the WA Travellers’ Intentions Survey by Tourism Council WA, there has been an 8% increase in the number of Western Australians who have already arranged their summer getaways compared to the summer of 2023.
CEO Evan Hall emphasized the importance of early bookings, advocating for locals to secure their holiday plans promptly. Hall emphasized the significance of booking locally and in advance to ensure availability.
“Popular holiday spots in Western Australia tend to fill up rapidly, especially during peak school holiday times. By making advance bookings for holiday activities, travelers contribute to businesses’ ability to hire more staff, maintain sufficient supplies, and enhance services for guests,” remarked Mr. Hall.
He further recommended that travelers opt to book directly with tourism operators or local visitor centers. By bypassing online booking agents that charge commissions of up to 30%, travelers stand a chance to access better deals and accurate travel guidance by communicating directly with businesses or visitor centers.
The survey, encompassing 800 Western Australian respondents, disclosed that a quarter of them had already secured their summer holiday plans by the first week of December.
