The Tourism Authority of Thailand stated that it’s gearing up to make use of Pita Limjaroenrat, 42, Thai opposition leader, as the new tourism ambassador, to lure greater number of tourists to the kingdom. Mr. Pita’s plea could easily attract international tourists in greater numbers, mainly the younger crowd from South Korea, China, and Japan, to come the Land of the Smile. On Thursday, the TAT governor, Yuthasak Supasorn said the same.

The leader of Move Forward Party, Mr. Pita, is the candidate of an eight- party alliance to turn out to be the next prime minister of Thailand, although some political analysts explain that he still encounters danger from the military-supported parties the coalition wiped out in the May 14 election.

For the tourism sector of Thailand, Mr. Pita is a great applicant to be an ambassador as he is well-liked among the younger population, Mr. Yuthasak said.

Mr Yuthasak also said that it would be profitable if Pita decided to act as the ambassador of Thailand’s tourism industry, as he possesses the qualities of the main opinion leader.

The key opinion leader is a marketing phrase and is used to explain an influencer with huge appeal and who can draw attention for a brand.

She did not talk about whether Mr. Pita was thinking of becoming the tourism ambassador of Thailand.
