Tourism incomes from Australia reach $505.4 million

Australia tourism incomestouched $505.4 million, which is 58.1 percentof the pre-pandemic tourism profitsrecuperatedin 2022.


ViliameGavoka, theMinister of Tourism said that Australia is the largest market for Fiji, which made formore than half of the arrivals concerning tourists last year.


Gavokasaid that in 2022, they got back 94 percent of pre-pandemic Australian visitor entrances. By worth, tourism incomes from Australia comprised 58.1 percent of $870 million, marking a retrieval of 97.4 percent. Gavokaadded that reservations from the Australian market are also going up.


Gavokasaid that considering April 2, Australian market reservations are increasing at an average 7 percenteach week. Advancereservations for the coming 12 months are in excess of 34.5 percentcompared to 2019. Withsupply of two new Airbus A 350s in the months of July and August, there is thechance to present more facilities and seats to Australia.


Andrew Barr, the Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory said that they will be consideringadditionalprospects to develop their individual economies.
