Tourism Malaysia is marking its fifteenth successive participation at the Tehran International Tourism Exhibition (TITEX), scheduled from February 12 to 15, 2024. Focused on enhancing its tourism promotional efforts, this participation aims to establish and deepen business relationships and collaborative opportunities within the region.

Over the course of the exhibition’s four days, Tourism Malaysia will partake in high-level networking opportunities with Iranian travel experts and key figures from the tourism and hospitality industries. These interactions are expected to provide deep insights into the vibrant and evolving Malaysian tourism sector.

Tourism Malaysia will be represented through a specially designed pavilion that includes seven booths. These booths will host distinguished partners, including tour operators, hotels/resorts, and a notable airline, such as BetterBooking Travel and Tour Sdn. Bhd., Future Group Tour & Travel Sdn. Bhd., Gulliver Tours and Travel Sdn. Bhd., Pearl Island Holiday Travel Agency, Toranj Tour & Travel Sdn. Bhd., Marriott Hotels, IOI Resort City, Putrajaya, and Air Arabia.

The event will highlight attractive travel packages and introduce the latest attractions and destinations in Malaysia like Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands, and Penang. These offerings are aimed at a wide range of market interests, from shopping and theme parks to family entertainment.

Dato’ Dr Ammar Abd. Ghapar, Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, remarked: “Malaysia is currently among the few countries offering visa-free stays not exceeding 14 days for Iranian passport holders. Iran remains one of Malaysia’s top international tourist-generating markets in the Middle East, with arrivals totalling 13,506 from January to September 2023.”

Following the success of a joint destination seminar in Isfahan and Shiraz in August 2023, supported by Air Arabia, Malaysia reinforces its position as a preferred travel destination for Iranians, especially as it prepares for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

Travelers from Iran can easily reach Malaysia through flights from cities like Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Tabriz, and Shiraz, with services provided by well-known airlines such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Air Arabia.
