Tourism Malaysia is set to mark its 14th consecutive appearance at the International Travel & Hospitality Show (MITT) 2024, a key three-day event happening from 19 to 21 March at the Crocus Expo Exhibition Centre. With participation from over 768 companies across 30 countries, the MITT 2024 event stands as a critical platform for industry leaders and stakeholders to establish essential connections and partnerships.

The Malaysian team is led by Mr. Iskandar Mirza Mohd Yusof, the Senior Director of International Promotion (Americas, Europe & Oceania) at Tourism Malaysia. The delegation includes a variety of participants such as tour operators, destination management companies (DMCs), and a notable hotel representative, featuring entities like Lexis Hotel Group, Fun and Sun Holidays, Embassy Alliance Travel Group, PAKS Group, China Travel, ITM Group, and Russian Express. At the Tourism Malaysia booth located in Pavilion 1, Hall 3, Stand B308, attendees have the opportunity to discover Malaysia’s diverse attractions tailored specifically for the Russian market.

Mr Iskandar Mirza expressed: “The MITT 2024 serves as a cornerstone for promoting Malaysia as a premier tourist destination in Russia. It fosters valuable industry exchange, inspiration, and long-term partnerships. We are thrilled to unveil Malaysia’s enthralling experiences and attractions, solidifying its standing as an unparalleled destination in gearing up for Visit Malaysia 2026.”

Following its successful participation in the Moscow Dive Show 2024, where Malaysia’s stunning dive sites were highlighted, Tourism Malaysia continues its efforts to attract and engage Russian tourists. This includes participating in important industry events, collaborating with media and travel operators, and executing extensive online marketing strategies.

The tourism sector in Malaysia is on track for considerable growth, aiming to attract 27.3 million tourists by 2024 and generate estimated revenues of MYR102.7 billion. Specifically, tourist arrivals from Russia are anticipated to increase by 30% in 2024 compared to the previous year, building on the significant growth from 33,033 visitors in 2022 to 109,689 in 2023.

As Malaysia looks forward to Visit Malaysia Year 2026, the goal is to welcome 35.6 million international tourists, with expected tourism receipts reaching MYR147.1 billion.
