Tourism Milestone in Sri Lanka: Two Million Visitor Now Marks Positive Outlook

November 17, 2025, will mark the date Sri Lanka welcomed our two millionth tourist, a first in the history of our tourism industry. This is a key milestone as we work to achieve our goal of 2.5 million tourists by the end of the year. The two millionth tourist reaffirms Sri Lanka as a popular tourist destination with its many offerings, including beautiful beaches, cultural and historical sites, and a variety of wildlife and landscapes.

This success builds on Sri Lanka’s continued recovery from the impact of the global pandemic. The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) has developed and implemented several marketing and promotional activities aimed at rebuilding our tourism industry, including participating in world-renowned travel trade shows such as the World Travel Market (WTM), the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) and IFTM Top Resa in Paris.

Strengthening Growth in Tourists Arrivals  

Growing confidence in Sri Lanka’s tourism potential will always arrive the two millionth tourist most important in the country’s tourism history. This accomplishment not only demonstrates the country’s growing appeal but also shows that Sri Lanka is most likely going to achieve the adjusted objective of 2.3 million tourist arrivals for the year 2025. This outreach marketing initiative has made Sri Lanka easily accessible to business and leisure travel.
