Tourism outlook of Morocco is still bright in spite of earthquake

The tourism ministry of Morocco is quite sure about the flexibility of the tourism industry of Morocco in the face of tough situations, like the distressing earthquake that hit the country on September 8 th .


On Monday, in a statement, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, the tourism minister, said in a statement emphasizing that the country is quite positive about the “year-end predictions in spite of challenges coming up due to the earthquake.


The minister also said that they are working carefully with the professionals of the industry to withstand the operations and quickly revere the growth of the sector.


Converging reports of the media have emphasized the resilience of the country, including the tourism after the earthquake that damaged many buildings, several of them collapsed as well as the mortality rate reached nearly 3,000 people.


Morocco’s National Tourist Office in September, said that the hospitality sector of Morocco continues to flourish, greeting locals as well as international visitors after the massive earthquake.


Also, ONMT introduced several measures to highlight the impact of the earthquake on tourism, including constant communication with the stakeholders from tourism and the National Confederation of Tourism. Besides, the Tourism Office introduced campaigns to assure the tourism operators and airlines about
Morocco’s situation.
