Tourism Promotions Board Unveils Exciting Opportunities at the 14th Regional Travel Fair

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the marketing and promotions arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT), is set to host the 14th Regional Travel Fair (RTF) in Roxas City, Capiz, from October 18 to 20, 2024. This vibrant event will highlight the Western Visayas region, celebrated for its rich cultural heritage, stunning coastal landscapes, and mouthwatering cuisine.

This year’s RTF promises to be a gathering hub for local tourism stakeholders and travel enthusiasts, showcasing Capiz’s diverse attractions and emerging destinations. Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, TPB Chief Operating Officer, expressed enthusiasm for bringing the fair to Roxas City. “We are excited to provide our dedicated tourism stakeholders a platform to exhibit the rich heritage and natural beauty of Capiz and its neighboring provinces. This event not only bolsters local tourism businesses but also inspires Filipinos to explore the hidden gems of the region, uncovering unique experiences and unforgettable journeys,” she stated.

The fair kicks off on October 18 with a Business-to-Business (B2B) session at the Circulo Convention Center. This session will bring together provincial representatives and key industry players from airlines, hotels, and tour operators to establish partnerships and explore new opportunities for promoting domestic travel. Featured provinces include Capiz, Antique, Aklan, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Guimaras, each presenting their unique attractions to a curated group of buyers. The B2B activities will culminate in a welcome dinner at Istorya Forest Garden, fostering networking and social interaction among exhibitors, media, and tourism officials.

On October 19 and 20, the fair opens its doors to the public with a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) event at Robinsons Roxas. Visitors can take advantage of exclusive discounts on travel packages, airline tickets, accommodations, and local delicacies. The B2C sessions will feature cultural presentations, interactive games such as Travel Bingo, and special product showcases from DOT regional offices and event sponsors. Local artisans will also present authentic Capiznon crafts and specialties for guests to explore and enjoy.

In addition to the B2B and B2C sessions, tourism stakeholders will participate in the Capiztahan Food Festival Night on October 17, a grand culinary celebration hosted by the Province of Capiz.

To enhance the experience further, TPB has arranged a special post-event tour, highlighting notable sites such as the Pan-ay Church, Palina Greenbelt Ecopark, and the historic Roxas City Heritage District.

The 14th Regional Travel Fair is organized in collaboration with DOT Western Visayas, the City of Roxas, and the Province of Capiz, with the support of partners including 2GO, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and Robinsons Roxas.
