Tourism revenue raised 68.4 percent in Tunisia

During the initial five months of 2023, tourism revenue amounted to $2.826 billion. It was a 68.4 per cent rise compared with the same time 2022. This data has been furnished on Thursday by the Central Bank of Jordan.


As per the aforesaid data, on outbound tourism, Jordanians’ expenditure during the January-May period of 2023 increased around 48.1 per cent compared to the consequent period of last year. It reached $696.3 million, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.


In tourism income on May 2023, the figures showed a huge growth of 27.8 per cent, standing at $611 million compared to the same time 2022.


During the first five months of this year, the CBJ data made the revenue spike responsible because of the increase in the number of overnight tourists coming to the Kingdom with 2.044 million guests. This statistic marks a 62.4 per cent raise from the vacationers in 2022.


In terms of the number of one-day tourists, the figures reached 439,000, which is an up of 108 per cent.


Jordanians’ expenditure on outbound tourism during May of 2023, as per the data, went up 6.1 per cent compared to the corresponding month of 2022, reaching $132 million.
