Tourism witnesses 4% uptick in demand in December 2021

The travel and tourism industry is among those industries, hit badly by the pandemic in India; however, it also witnessed a year-on-year increase and positive trend with a 4% uptick in demand in December 2021 compared to December 2020.

The travel and tourism industry marked a 1% monthly drop in job postings with the coming of the third wave, and travel restrictions and safety protocols in the midst of the pandemic.

In July last year, travel and tourism witnessed a steady rise in job postings with a 16% growth. This revival was witnessed through November 2021. This growth was mainly due to emergence of revenge travel and staycations as per a survey.
