Lestari Moerdijat , the Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly, has called for constancy in the law enforcement at various tourist destinations with a mission to preserve order and comfort along with the continuity of the developmental works in tourism areas.

On Monday, Moerdijat , in a statement said that steps against infringement of rule in different tourist destinations with many tourists must be made consistent to keep up with order and comfort as well as the continuity of the regional development for the better.

At present, the frequent traffic violations in Bali is mainly being committed by tourists from other countries and this has become a hot topic among people.

On the basis of records of Bali Regional Police from traffic stops conducted from late February to March this year, roughly 171 nationals from other countries have violated traffic rules during the period at the minimum.

The case of Bali, as per Moerdijat, should be a lesson for other tourist destination regions in the country. She said that regulation and comfort are the magnetism of any tourism area.

In the regions, stakeholders must be steady in distributing information in terms of the significance of obeying the rules to set up order so that visitors who come to this place can have a safe and hassle-free travel, she added.

She said that she hoped that the target of attaining 7.4 million foreign tourist arrivals in 2023 would not make the law enforcement in several tourism areas negligent.
