Tourists are currently rushing to Ooty, however, recently they have called for to take strong actions against tourist operators who have been alleged of taking them on a misleading trip. The private tour operators associated with organized group tours to exploring the attractions are heavily misleading the tourists with no regulations in place, into taking them to places of their profitable interest by not including some important tourist spots in the list.
Mostly in maxi cab vans, private tour operators manage one-day group tours where various tourist families are taken for sightseeing trips all-day long. Such types of tours are favored by tourists because of their reasonable cost.
A tourist from Salem said that on his trip to Mudumalai, the tour operator, who was also working as an accompanying guide in the vehicle, deceived them by saying that Theppakadu elephant camp is currently out of bounds for tourists on a temporary basis.
The tour operators usually entice the tourists to go for jeep safari. Here, the visitors are given a ride along the forest’s buffer zone by road, rather than opting for the vehicle safari provided by the forest department. In the vehicle safari, the tourists can get into the wild with better chance for visitors to see wild animals.
