Tourists rush in famous attractions of China

From China’s the Great Wall to the waterfront Bund in Shanghai, the most famous attractions in this country in East Asia are being rushed with huge number of people during the holiday of the Labor Day as locals poured out, who have started traveling once again enormously after the country finally ended its three years of severe controls of the pandemic.


During the five-day off that started on this Saturday, over 240 million holidaymakers are anticipated to travel within and outside the country, as the state media CCTV reported this on yesterday i.e. on Monday. This is a rise of over 20% from the levels of the pre-pandemic times.


On the first day of the vacation, Beijing welcomed around 2 million tourists. It’s the double the number from 2022, as stated by the Beijing Cultural and Tourism Department.


As per Shanghai Travel Data, more than 7 million tourists in Shanghai arrived for the weekend. Until tomorrow, i.e. May 3rd, tickets to Shanghai Disneyland have been completely sold out; its website said the same.


Police in Xi’an, home to the terracotta warriors, have exercised the word of caution to the tourists, requesting them to stay away from a busy shopping street which is located between two famous heritage sites.


China Railway on Saturday recorded 19.7 million railway trips. A predicted figure of 18 million trips has been done on Sunday.
