The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) revealed plans to broaden its TSA PreCheck service by incorporating new airlines: Air Premia, Air Tahiti Nui, Air Transat, Bahamasair, BermudAir, Iberia, La Compagnie, and New Pacific Airlines. TSA PreCheck offers an expedited security screening process to deemed low-risk travelers, facilitating a smoother journey at over 200 airports across U.S. states and territories, including Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas. Participants in the TSA PreCheck program can pass through security without removing shoes, belts, light jackets, laptops, liquids, and food from their luggage. Remarkably, about 99% of TSA PreCheck passengers experience less than a 10-minute wait in exclusive security lanes.

TSA PreCheck is accessible for qualifying travelers flying from U.S. airports or when connecting on domestic flights upon returning to the U.S. This program is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, and lawful permanent residents, who can choose an enrollment provider based on factors such as cost, location, and extra perks, with enrollment fees differing by provider.

To enroll, applicants can visit tsa.gov/precheck, select an enrollment provider like IDEMIA or Telos, complete an online application in just five minutes, and arrange a brief 10-minute face-to-face meeting to finish the enrollment process.

Upon approval, participants receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN), which, when included in an airline reservation, allows them access to TSA PreCheck lanes at security checkpoints across the country with any participating airline. Typically, a KTN is issued within three to five days after enrollment.

Now, teenagers aged 13 to 17 can go through TSA PreCheck screening with their enrolled parents or guardians on the same booking, provided the TSA PreCheck indicator is shown on the teenager’s boarding pass. Likewise, children aged 12 and under can join a registered parent or guardian in the TSA PreCheck lanes with no limitations.

Travelers must ensure their boarding pass displays a TSA PreCheck indicator (like TSAPRECHK, TSA PRE, or TSA Pre✓®) before proceeding to a TSA checkpoint to verify their eligibility for TSA PreCheck screening.

For assistance, travelers can contact AskTSA from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT through X (previously Twitter) or Facebook by messaging @AskTSA, or by texting “275-872” (“AskTSA”). The TSA Contact Center is also reachable at 866-289-9673 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. EDT during weekdays and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT on weekends/holidays, with a 24/7 automated service available.
