Costa Cruises

Cruises remain among the most popular holidays at Easter 2024. Over the festive period, Costa Cruises ships will visit around 20 different destinations around the world.

From South America, with cruises to Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay by the Costa Diadema, Costa Favolosa and Costa Fascinosa; to the Far East, with the Costa Serena visiting Taiwan, Japan and South Korea, and the Costa Deliziosa arriving in Taiwan on the third leg of its Around-the-World cruise; to the Mediterranean, in Italy, France and Spain, where the Costa Smeralda will offer a week-long cruise with calls at Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona, Cagliari, Naples and Civitavecchia, while the Costa Fortuna and Costa Pacifica will offer mini-cruises to Barcelona and Marseille, departing from Savona.

Sea Destinations: big news from June

Easter cruises mark the start of Costa’s spring-summer 2024 season. The main novelty is the debut of the ‘Sea Destinations’.

Starting from the beginning of June, in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, alongside the experiences that will lead to discovering destinations “ashore” from a unique point of view, Costa ships will offer new experiences to be enjoyed on board, while sailing, in order to experience at best iconic places included in the itineraries.

For example, in the Western Mediterranean, after visiting Ibiza, once back on board the ship, guests can let themselves be carried away by the atmosphere of the sunset with a hippy chic party in the bay of Formentera; or, before disembarking from the ship to visit Naples, guests can enjoy a typical Caprese breakfast in front of the spectacular panorama of the Faraglioni rocks of Capri island, illuminated by the first light of day.

Passing, instead, over the deepest point of the Eastern Mediterranean, a feast of the abysses of the sea will come to life; while, crossing the gateway to the East, the strait of the Dardanelles, guests on board will be able to experience a journey back in time and admire, enraptured, the mystical dance of the rotating veils of the Dervishes.

In Northern European, after being greeted by local farmers in the town of Geiranger, guests will cruise through the entire fjord listening to Nordic stories and legends, while from the bow of the ship they will experience the spectacle of the Seven Sisters waterfall, amidst craggy rocks and verdant mountains.

Summer 2024 itineraries

During the summer season three ships will be dedicated to the Western Mediterranean, for week-long cruises visiting some of the most beautiful destinations in Italy, France and Spain: the latest generation sister ships Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana, and Costa Pacifica.

Costa Smeralda will depart from Genoa every Friday, visiting Marseille, Barcelona, Cagliari, Naples, Civitavecchia/Rome. Costa Toscana will instead be in Savona every Saturday for an itinerary that will stop in Marseille, Barcelona, Ibiza, Palermo, Civitavecchia/Rome.

During the spring and autumn season instead of Ibiza there will be Palma de Mallorca. The Costa Pacifica will be in Savona every Sunday to explore Civitavecchia/Rome, Olbia, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia and Marseille.

Three more ships will be featured in the eastern Mediterranean. Costa Fortuna will propose a new itinerary with stops exclusively in Greece and Turkey. From 7 June to 13 September, the ship will depart every Friday from Athens, discovering Istanbul and the beautiful Greek islands of Mykonos, Crete, Rhodes and Santorini.

On some departures, a second stop in Turkey, in Bodrum, or on the Greek island of Kos, instead of Rhodes, is planned. The proposed formula is the “flight+cruise” package, available from all major European countries.

Costa Fascinosa will offer one-week cruises to Catania, Taranto, Mykonos, Santorini, Malta.

Costa Deliziosa will set sail on a one-week itinerary including Marghera/Venice, Bari, the beautiful Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini, and Katakolon/Olympia.

In October, on the other hand, it will offer a one-week itinerary from Trieste and Bari to discover Croatia, Greece and Montenegro.

Two ships, Costa Favolosa and Costa Diadema, will operate in Northern Europe, with cruises to discover incredible landscapes, spectacular fjords, villages nestled between green mountains and blue sea, and the unique phenomenon of the midnight sun.

Costa Favolosa will offer three different itineraries, from 13 to 22 days, departing from Hamburg, bound for the North Cape and Lofoten Islands, Iceland and Greenland, plus a new 8-day itinerary dedicated to Scotland.

Costa Diadema will offer one-week cruises to the Norwegian fjords.

The spring-autumn 2024 itineraries

For those with only a few days to spare, in spring and autumn there are mini-cruises in the western Mediterranean, in Italy, France and Spain, of 3 and 4 days, with the Costa Pacifica, Costa Fascinosa and Costa Fortuna.

Also, in spring and autumn, with the Costa Diadema, Costa Favolosa and Costa Fascinosa, guests will travel the Mediterranean and beyond, visiting the Canary Islands, with a two-week itinerary, or Lisbon or Morocco, with 10-day cruises; Costa Fascinosa will also offer a cruise to the Azores islands.

For those who are undecided on which part of the Mediterranean to visit, in spring and autumn Costa Fortuna will offer cruises that in a single two-week holiday allow them to visit both the Balearic Islands and the Greek islands, or alternatively Turkey and Tunisia.
