Travel chaos ensued for rail passengers traveling to and from London Euston station as all services were abruptly cancelled due to a gas leak near Harrow and Wealdstone station in North West London. The incident led to stranded passengers, crowded stations, and halted trains, impacting both Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway services.

Emergency services and gas engineers were summoned to address the issue with a leaking five-ton gas tank, resulting in the suspension of all train services at Euston. Frustrated passengers vented their anger on social media, with some highlighting their predicament, including those with young children or those who were stranded on trains at other stations.

Actor Tom Fletcher expressed his frustration on Twitter, requesting information about ticket exchanges for a later service. Others, like teacher Niamh Finnegan, sought updates on when their stalled train would resume its journey. Another passenger named Alison shared her experience of a disrupted train journey that had come to a halt at Stafford due to the problems at Euston.

The disruption significantly affected Avanti West Coast services, causing issues for routes between cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow Central, Manchester Piccadilly, and Birmingham New Street. Similarly, London Northwestern Railway services faced disruptions for passengers traveling between Crewe, Birmingham New Street, Milton Keynes Central, Tring, and Euston.

The incident led to a flurry of inconveniences and frustrations for passengers, underscoring the challenges that can arise in the transportation sector due to unexpected incidents like gas leaks.
