In Japan, Travelex, a market-leading foreign exchange company, is observing its 20th anniversary, having set up a network of more than 70 retail stores all over the country.

In 2003, its first store in Japan at Tokyo City Air Terminal was launched for the first time, Travelex at present employs around 400 colleagues all over its 70 locations, which are conspicuously based at both the famous airports and in city center locations as well.

Besides its store network, which provides customers foreign currency in cash, Travelex has launched many ground-breaking digital products to the Japanese market as well, opening with the introduction of its first automatic foreign exchange machine in 2011 in a Tokyo hotel.

In 2022, Travelex widened its digital offerings with a transmittal product that helps the Japanese users to remit money to over 50 markets all over the world promptly via their phone. Travelex also opened its prepaid foreign currency card earlier this year. The name of this card was – Travelex Money Card, in the
Japanese market.

To rejoice its anniversary, Julia Longbottom, the British Ambassador to Japan, organized an event at the British Embassy which was taken part by more than 80 guests from the financial institutions, banks, travel, aviation, airport, and legal sectors.
