Trip.com Group unveiling latest consumer trends and AI innovations at ITB Berlin 2024

Trip.com Group is poised to make a significant impact at ITB Berlin 2024, scheduled from March 5th to 7th in Berlin. This marks the company’s second presence at the esteemed international event, where it aims to showcase its latest technological innovations and shed light on the evolving consumer trends influencing the future of travel.

Embracing the Evolving Global Traveler

Schubert Lou, Chief Operating Officer of Trip.com, will headline the eTravel stage on March 6th from 10:35 am to 11:00 am, delivering a keynote address titled “Accommodating the Global Traveler.”

With Trip.com Group’s commitment to catering to a diverse international audience, Schubert will explore the unique preferences of Asian travelers and discuss how destinations can adapt to consumer demands that extend beyond traditional sightseeing. Moreover, he will underscore the growing impact of AI and technology on reshaping the tours and activities sector.

“The international travel landscape is significantly different post-pandemic, and industry players must stay ahead of the curve with innovation and agility,” said Schubert. “At Trip.com Group, we are committed to leveraging technology and data-driven insights to meet the rapid evolution of traveller needs.”

Boon Sian Chai, Managing Director and Vice President for International Markets at Trip.com Group, will participate in a panel discussion at the Orange stage titled “Meeting the Needs of the Paradoxical Consumer” on March 6th, from 2:45 pm to 3:15 pm. This session will examine the challenges encountered by the travel industry, especially hotels, in meeting the increasingly unpredictable preferences of consumers.

“We must prioritise digital transformation and increased personalisation to appeal to ever-evolving consumers,” said Chai. “As such, we have constantly adapted our offerings to capture short attention spans and spur brand loyalty in an increasingly competitive landscape.”

Furthermore, Andy Washington, Trip.com Group’s General Manager for Europe, is scheduled to take part in a panel discussion titled “Beyond the Buzz – Key Technology Trends Shaping Travel” on March 5th, running from 11:15 am to 11:45 am, at the eTravel stage. Washington will impart Trip.com Group’s perspectives on distinguishing enduring technological advancements from fleeting trends. He will emphasize the company’s proactive approaches in utilizing technology to anticipate and address traveler needs, with a specific focus on the distinctive dynamics of the European market.
