Tropical North Queensland operators bagged 14 victories through 10 groups at the Queensland Tourism Awards function at the Cairns Convention Center on Friday.

QTIC organized the honors in Cairns for the first time since 1997 and gave away the prizes across 31 groupings, all acknowledging Queensland’s innovative tourism segment.

Tropical North Queensland’s achievement at the awards is backed by a 23.3 per cent upsurge in local visitors, indicating 2.5 million Australians opting to visit Tropical North Queensland in the course of the last fiscal year.

Brett Fraser, QTIC Chief Executive Officer said that he is pleased to see the unlimited attainments of Tropical North Queensland at this year’s honors and he considers that it is well-earned.

Mr. Fraser said that the Tropical North Queensland tourism sector witnessed an eventful year; hence, he is happy to see them earn 14 prizes at the Queensland Tourism Awards.

He said that as per Tourism Research Australia, Tropical North Queensland’s overnight tourist spending increased to an astonishing $4.3 billion, which is nearly 70 per cent greater compared to 2019, so it’s a no-brainer that its tourism sector is so well-known.

Tropical North Queensland offers a lot to see and do and tourism is a dynamic part of its finance; hence, these honors are an evidence of all that the area has to offer.
