Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, government representatives, bureaucrats, tourism stakeholders and other luminaries will take part in the celebration.

Nilesh Shah, the President of Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) said that in accordance with this year’s global theme, ‘Rethink Tourism’, TTAG has scheduled the celebration in a different way by organizing various happenings comprising an e-bike rally, heritage walks across the state, cooking competitions among others. Shah said that they want to exhibit diverse offerings that Goa has to offer beyond the apparent ones.

Shah said that the event is a wonderful opportunity to bring all tourism stakeholders along with the government under one platform where the support can make the approaching tourist season a success and make it stronger to face challenges in the future. The carnival marks the beginning of the tourism season with international charters prepared to arrive. With the advanced infrastructure, Goa is expecting improved tourist footfall.

The World Tourism Day merriments will begin with a mini rally. The rally will be flagged off from Dona Paula circle to Miramar and back, having only non-fuel based vehicles comprising bicycles, e-bikes and electric vehicles.
