Turkey’s tourism incomes this year went up 27.1% compared to a year before to $17.95 billion in the third quarter. This was stated as per data available from the Turkish Statistical Institute.
In 2021, Turkey’s tourism incomes doubled to nearly $25 billion, recuperating from the effects of the corona virus pandemic, but they stayed well below the $34.5 billion registered in 2019.
The average spending per night for visitors leaving Turkey was $89. 75.1% of the visitors came to Turkey for travel, entertainment, sports and cultural activities. Their secondary reason of visit was visiting relatives and friends, which made 17.8% of these visitors.
