Turkish Airlines Plans to Expand in Latin America with New Santiago de Chile Flights Starting This December

In 2023, only a small number of Turkish Airlines passengers traveling to or from Buenos Aires had Italy as their final destination, indicating it might not be a key market for Santiago either. Conversely, Asian destinations were highly significant, and this trend is expected to hold for Santiago as well. This is despite the availability of one-stop routes through London Heathrow, Paris CDG, the US, and other places, as well as two-stop services via Buenos Aires and Amsterdam with KLM.

Excluding Italy, Santiago-Tokyo was the top city-level origin and destination. Other leading destinations in the top 15 included Shanghai, Tel Aviv, Athens, Seoul, Hong Kong, Beijing, Dubai, Manila, Bangkok, Warsaw, Johannesburg, Delhi, Prague, and Cairo. Once Turkish Airlines begins its operations to Chile, it will be interesting to observe the passenger distribution.
