Tuyen Quang launches international Hot-air Balloon Festival

It was conveyed at a press conference in Da Nang on March 29 that Tuyen Quang city, located in the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang, is set to host the third International Hot-air Balloon Festival from April 27 to May 2. The festival aims to initiate a plethora of cultural, sports, and tourism activities that will showcase the region’s potential for tourism development along with its cultural and natural heritage values. This initiative is seen as a strategic move to invigorate tourism and attract more visitors and investors, both locally and globally, to the province.

The event promises to be a visual feast with an array of colorful balloons taking to the skies, piloted by participants from a diverse group of countries including Australia, China, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Thailand, the UK, and Vietnam. In conjunction with the balloon festival, the opening ceremony for the Tuyen Quang Tourism Year 2024 is scheduled for 8 pm on April 27.

Furthermore, from April 25 to May 1, the tourism fair will feature various booths showcasing local crafts and community-based tourism products, aiming to highlight the unique offerings of Tuyen Quang. Hoang Viet Phuong, the Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, mentioned that preparations for these festivals are well underway. He also extended an invitation to domestic and foreign investors to explore tourism opportunities within the province. Phuong assured that Tuyen Quang is committed to supporting and providing favorable conditions for businesses to successfully implement their projects in the area.

This announcement underscores the province’s proactive approach to leveraging cultural events to bolster tourism and economic development. By hosting such an international event, Tuyen Quang not only aims to enrich its tourism landscape but also to position itself as an attractive destination for tourists and investors alike on the global stage.
