Two more flights to Nigeria are added by the Qatar Airways network

4 weekly flights to Kano and 3 weekly flights to Port Harcourt via the Nigerian capital of Abuja, will be launched by the Qatar Airways to increase their presence in Nigeria.

Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport is located in one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. It is also a gateway to the rich and historical treasure of Kano which have survived for millennia.


The largest city  and the capital of Rivers States in Nigeria, Port Harcourt, will provide the gateway to the southern tip of the country.


The Port Harcourt International Airport, will be connected by the Qatar Airways.

Port Harcourt has been the gateway to international trade for more than a century turning Port Harcourt to a vibrant, fast-growing metropolis.

Traditional water cannon salutes were used to greet the aircraft when they arrived in Kano and Port Harcourt.

Akbar Al Baker, the Group chief executive of Qatar Airways, has recently said that this was a defining moment for Qatar Airways as Nigeria became their most connected network in Africa. The company feels that there are enormous opportunities in the region and the new routes are important factors which will further boost trade and commerce in the country.

Qatar Airways’s presence in Nigeria marks an important decision in supporting the economic growth and development in Nigeria.

It covers four key markets in the region. The company has remained steadfast in its commitment to Africa throughout the pandemic, operating continuously and reliably to and from Nigeria.

They have increased the connectivity to Nigeria. This has helped the country in the economic growth and improving connectivity in the country.

The carrier offers double-daily flights to Lagos and now operates daily services to Abuja  in Nigeria.
