Uber’s flagship long-distance product, Intercity, now offers a round-trip travelling feature. Customers who book a one-or-multi-day return ticket from an out-of-town trip with Uber will profit from this. Furthermore, customers will be able to retain the same car and driver.

Passengers who opt for either leisure or business trips will benefit due to the flexibility. Customers can schedule round-trip out-of-town travel lasting up to five days. Not only that, but the driver will remain with the vehicle during the period. Following that, the option to add more stops will also be available. Passengers may make bookings in advance up to ninety days.

This round-trip feature across intercity will benefit the drivers as well. Being able to organise their days ahead will enable them to receive a higher rate of pay. In terms of round-trip fares, this includes the cost of overnight accommodations as well as the waiting period sufficient to ensure that the drivers receive compensation for their time and labour.

This distinctive trait is sure to please passengers who are looking for flexibility and convenience, according to Head of New Mobility Shweta Mantri, who spoke with the media. Passengers expressed apprehension about the unorganized market when travelling long distances in taxis. Intercity trips help users by guaranteeing that all Uber rides have tracking capabilities and security.

The company has played a significant role in intercity services’ expansion to almost 100 cities. The average ticket size on the platform will rise as a result of this new functionality. Uber is going to become the go-to app for all of its customers’ mobility needs, Mantri told the media, in addition to facilitating group trips and shuttle buses.

Additionally, the requirement to manually reserve a local taxi service will be gone as a result of this. Trips are also safer and more dependable because Uber has tracking technology integrated into its service. For those looking to cut down on time or avoid train schedules, this will be a very practical option.
