UFI Appoints John Burke to Board of Directors for Three-Year Tenure

John Burke, General Manager of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, has been appointed to the UFI Board of Directors for a three-year term. UFI is the global trade association representing tradeshow organizers and exhibition center operators, advocating for the interests of its members and the exhibition industry.

John Burke expressed his deep honor in being appointed to UFI’s Board for the next three years and extended his gratitude to everyone who supported his candidacy. He eagerly anticipates collaborating with the President, CEO, and fellow Directors to elevate the exhibition industry to unprecedented heights and provide enhanced value to UFI members.

He adds, “The exhibition industry is a key growth area for Business Events in Malaysia, and particularly Kuala Lumpur, with several organisers expanding their show portfolios. The significance of exhibitions as a driver of economic and cultural enrichment at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, as many other centres in Malaysia, has been underscored by its aggressive bounce back.”

The UFI Board of Directors consists of up to 60 members, with elections held every three years. The process ensures global representation from UFI chapters worldwide. The Board’s responsibilities include implementing General Assembly decisions, shaping UFI policy, and formulating proposals concerning international trade fairs. These proposals are meticulously prepared and voted upon by UFI members during the annual General Assembly.
