It’s Heavenly Mountain Resort’s 70th Anniversary Season! Located in the stunning South Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Mountain Resort is starting its 70th anniversary with exciting events this winter. Attendees and guests will have everything from high-energy ski runs, DJ sets, and, after skiing activities in the snow, experiencing the action of this busy winter is everything to commemorate this winter holiday!

To commemorate Heavenly’s 70th birthday, there will be a patio celebration on December 20th, 2025, and it will be the first of each of the events. This is a tribute to the growth and development of Heavenly that began in 1955 with one chair ski lift. Heavenly Lake Tahoe is now an iconic winter skiing destination. With varied ski runs and multiple base areas, and vast improvements to the resort, there is something offered to everyone. 70 years of growth is from customer experience and continues this customer-first attitude!

In order to capture the high energy of the entire season, there have been events such as live music and outdoor events spread throughout the season to create a large collection of activities. From something hectic to something rage-filled, there is something planned to be adult and child-friendly to allow for celebration!

Foster the People’s DJ Set on Dec. 20

As part of the 70th Anniversary, the event will begin with a DJ Set from the popular band, Foster the People. The event will take place on December 20, a Saturday, and will be held at Heavenly’s Lakeview Lodge. Guests will be enjoying vintage style with food and drink specials and music from different decades, starting from the opening of the resort back in 1955. This will create a great atmosphere for the festivities.

Vibrant DJ Sets Throughout the Season

The resort will continue its celebration with a variety of live DJ performances from popular artists like Vandelux, Dombresky, Forester, and SkiiTour. The DJs will be bringing their beats to Heavenly on January 24, February 27, and March 14. Along with the scheduled performances, the Heavenly DJ Cat will be roaming the slopes and delivering musical vibes from different points on the mountain almost every weekend.

Thrilling Winter Events for Adventure Seekers

Heavenly also has a variety of winter activities for those with extra energy in addition to the music. For those who like more than skiing or snowboarding, Heavenly has a number of activities to choose from to get the adrenaline pumping.

Toyota Air and Après (Feb. 27 – March 1)

The already popular Toyota Air and Après weekend is back for its 4th season. With big air stunt performances, light shows set against the beautiful Heavenly landscape, and DJ shows, the event is set to be a majestic mix of sights and sounds from March 27th to March 1st. The Heavenly festival village will, as per previous years, be filled with food and drink vendors.

Gunbarrel 25 (March 28)

The respected and already legendary Gunbarrel 25 event is set to take place on March 28 to absolute thrill and excitement. The most difficult event of the season, Gunbarrel invites participants to take on 25 depleting laps of Heavenly’s steep mogul terrain. Public registration will be available with more details being released later in the season.

Heavenly Pond Skim (April 11)

April 11 is our Heavenly Pond Skim event! Based on last year’s event, our attendees ski and snowboard across a pond while trying to skim along the surface. It’s entertaining to try and guess whether our pond skimmers will make it to the other side or if they will sink. With all this in mind, this is the beginning of spring, and our pond skim fest is a springtime tradition. Sign up for the event on our website as it gets closer to the start of June and to this event.

Après-Ski and Entertainment in South Lake Tahoe

In the lively town of South Lake Tahoe, there is no shortage of things to do after a long day of skiing or snowboarding at Heavenly.
