United Airlines is set to revolutionize its flight offerings from metropolitan New York to Africa this winter season, positioning itself as the leading carrier with the most comprehensive selection of flights to the continent. In an unprecedented move, United will launch direct flights between the United States and Marrakesh, Morocco, marking the first time this destination will be directly accessible from the U.S. The new route will operate from New York/Newark, starting October 24, and will feature three weekly flights. These flights will be serviced by the Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, known for its reliability and comfort.

The introduction of this route is significant for several reasons. Firstly, it underscores United Airlines’ commitment to expanding its global network, particularly to underserved destinations in Africa. Marrakesh, with its rich cultural heritage and status as a major economic center in Morocco, presents an attractive destination for both leisure and business travelers. United’s direct service to Marrakesh not only fills a gap in the market but also offers a convenient option for travelers seeking to explore this vibrant city without the need for connecting flights.

The flight configuration for this new route is designed to cater to a range of travel needs and preferences. It will include 46 United Polaris® business class seats, offering passengers a premium travel experience with enhanced comfort and privacy. Additionally, there will be 22 United Premium Plus® seats, providing an elevated travel option with additional space and amenities. This setup ensures that travelers have access to a variety of choices to suit their individual requirements, enhancing the overall travel experience.

This expansion into Marrakesh is part of United Airlines’ broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Africa. The airline already operates flights to several key destinations on the continent, including Accra in Ghana, Lagos in Nigeria, and both Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa. By adding Marrakesh to its network, United not only diversifies its African destinations but also reinforces its position as a global carrier with an extensive route network.

United Airlines, with its motto “At United, Good Leads The Way,” continues to innovate and expand its offerings to meet the evolving needs of global travelers. With hubs in major U.S. cities including Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., United boasts the most comprehensive global route network among North American carriers. As the world’s largest airline by available seat miles, United is committed to providing travelers with unparalleled service and connectivity.
