Universal Parks and Resorts recently announced that the company is planning to begin a phased reopening of Universal Orlando Resort starting June 5. As informed by the firm, the reopening will include a wide range of new and enhanced health, safety and hygiene procedures and some of the best practices with regard to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

On Friday, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings subsequently offered approval for Universal’s plan to gradually reopen their business to Florida governor Ron DeSantis. Officials from Universal previously shared details of their reopening with Mayor Demings’ economic recovery task force. Governor DeSantis is also looking forward to provide his support as he has been at the forefront of efforts to reopen businesses in the United States.

The Universal Parks and Resorts plan resume their business after being closed down since March 16. The move comes after Universal CityWalk Orlando reopened on May 14 with new health, safety and hygiene protocols. The latest reopening will also include Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal’s Volcano Bay.

Tom Williams, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Universal Parks and Resorts said in a statement that the firm is eager to invite guests back to its theme parks and resorts in a cautious and thoughtful way. He informed that new health and safety procedures have been placed at all Universal venues in order to maintain the health, safety and hygiene of guests as well as the company’s team members.

He also mentioned that the team have worked hard to make sure that guests can enjoy their time with family and friends while adhering to all necessary norms to maintain safety. He said that everyone needs to come together as the process of reopening and resuming activities would require a collaborated effort. Universal will also schedule team members for training on its new procedures. The company would also monitor, manage and control attendance cautiously during the present scenario.
