A staggering 85% of the available display space at IBTM World 2019 has already been sold, levels that are much higher than both this time last year and 2019.
Before the flagship event’s opening in Fira, Barcelona on November 28th, which is still two months away, the organizers announce that a number of locations have upped their participation at the exhibition, with some coming back for the first time since the epidemic.
This year, the hotel industry will take center stage as well, with big worldwide companies like Hilton, Choice Hotels worldwide, H10 Hotels, and Melia Hotels International among those exhibiting for the first time.
Mexico, Costa Rica, and Los Angeles are returning for the first time since 2019, and The Americas as a whole has experienced significant growth year over year. Jakarta will make its international debut, and Hong Kong and Macao are both returning and bigger than ever as a vote of confidence in the Greater Bay Area.Jordan, Morocco, and Abu Dhabi have significantly expanded their stand area from the MENA region. This year, Morocco has also made a sponsorship investment and will use a specific activation to bring its well-known hospitality to the Hosted Buyer Lounge.
Along with their new convention bureau, Antwerp will be more visible throughout Europe than they were previously. France and Paris will also make more of an effort to promote chances related to the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
Vasyl Zhygalo, IBTM World’s Portfolio Director claims that they are excited to welcome back a number of exhibitors as well as welcome new ones, and they anticipate a dynamic exhibition where attendees will collaborate to build the future of business events.
He adds, “The vast and diverse exhibitor participation represents more opportunities to do business, as well as indicating the robustness of the global business events sector.”
