The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has announced that four Chinese villages have achieved a coveted position on the “Best Tourism Villages” list for 2023.

On Thursday local time, the decision was announced at the 25th session of the UNWTO General Assembly in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

China currently has eight villages on the list, the most of any country in the world.

Huangling Village in Jiangxi Province, Xiajiang Village in Zhejiang Province, Zhagana Village in Gansu Province, and Zhujiawan Village in Shaanxi Province are the communities in question.

The UNWTO began selecting the “Best Tourism Villages” in 2021. This year, 258 applications were received from 63 nations, resulting in the admission of 54 communities from 32 countries.
