Upskilling classes introduced by Tourism Johor

Tourism industry players in Johor need to gain benefit from the upskilling classes introduced by Tourism Johor for developing their service standards.

The classes conducted on a monthly basis are part of the agency’s longstanding strategy to deliver quality service to tourists visiting the state.

Suhairi Hashim, its director, said that various modules are obtainable based on diverse tourism segments.

Mr. Hashim said that they have led tourism human resource training every month with the opening of borders in April for local tourism operators and owners and have relentlessly enriched the awareness and skills required by the industry players.

For instance, there are English Communication for Tourism Classes, Digital Marketing for Tourism Operators among others.

Suhairi spoke about upskilling programmes for the industry players, particularly those impacted by the shutting down of resorts and amenities during monsoon.

Suhairi said that Tourism Johor is a big supporter of human resources development via meeting with resident non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and associations.

He added that native tour operators and small businesses could get advantage from this partnership by making the most of the service excellence delivered, thus heartening tourists to pick Johor as their preferred place.

Suhairi said that they would vouch for non-impacted tourist spots like Legoland, Tanjung Piai National Parks, along with food and cultural destinations. There are popular spots for epicurean delights like Kluang and Batu Pahat town.
